If you’re looking for a way to create a Kahoot! quiz from a spreadsheet, follow the steps outlined in this post.
To create a Kahoot! quiz from a spreadsheet, you need to download the template provided by them and type your questions and answers there. You can use a tool like MS Excel (MS Excel 2007 or newer), Libre Office, Google Spreadsheets, or Numbers for the task.
Kahoot!’s import feature is pretty convenient, but following the instructions to create the spreadsheet can be somewhat tedious, especially if you need multiple quizzes or your workflow involves other formats like regular Doc, Excel, and CSV files.
Since Kahoot! lets you import only quiz questions, the process gets complicated when your existing assessments contain different question types. Fill-in-the-blank questions, for instance.
Worry not. There’s an easier way for you.
If you use Monsha’s Quiz Questions Generator or Reading Comprehension Question Generator to create your questions, you don’t have to spend time on your spreadsheet formatting at all. Instead, you can instantly export a ready-to-use file for Kahoot!.
One more thing. This feature isn’t limited to Kahoot! only. Your questions will also be automatically compatible with platforms like Quizizz and Blooket.
After logging into your Kahoot! account, click Create and then Add question button. A window will pop up where you can select the Import spreadsheet option.
Upload the .xlsx file you’ve prepared or the Monsha-provided spreadsheet.
And … that’s all. Once the system processes your file, you’ll be able to make additional adjustments.
With Monsha, you can quickly create quiz questions as well as reading comprehension questions. After creating these resources, you’ll have several export options. Simply select “Download for Kahoot!”, and you’ll receive your properly formatted spreadsheet.
The best part? Even if your assessment is based on fill-in-the-blank or true/false questions, they will be converted, without extra editing or customizations!
By the way, this is not the only way you can benefit from Monsha. Every one of our teaching-focused tools is designed to reduce your workload. So if you need an effective and reliable workflow for planning, creating, and adapting teaching materials, give Monsha a try.
