What Are Custom GPTs?

GPTs are custom versions of ChatGPT that combine instructions, extra knowledge, and any combination of skills. Whereas ChatGPT is a general-purpose AI built to do a lot of things, a GPT is a bot trained to do a specific task and do it better and in a more convenient way.

Custom GPTs allow users to create a library of prompts without the need to manually retype them. For example, as a teacher, you might want ChatGPT to help you grade assignments. Typically it would require you to go through the same prompting process repeatedly for each of your student submission.

But with a custom GPT, you can set it up to understand your specific grading criteria and the curriculum you follow. Then instead of typing out the same instructions every time, your custom GPT will already know what you need! You just submit your student’s answers and it returns just what you want.

You could also create GPT bots that interact with your students to help them with their homework, for example. The GPTs can be as simple or complex as you want, and the scope is only limited by your imagination! So, as you explore the strategies with practical tips, case studies, and resources; remember that the goal is not just to prevent misconduct but to enhance student learning in our ever-evolving educational landscape.
